Spring! How to make flower crowns. :)

I am sure that all of us can hardly wait for spring to arrive. I know that I can't. :) The blooming of roses, daffodils, hyacinths, etc, is just going to be superb. We can also finally lay off the hats, gloves, and coats and wear fun dresses and skirts. :)

I also can hardly wait to make flower crowns. Have you ever made one?
Here are instructions on how to make one. :)

What you need

  • Approximately 2 to 3 dozen fresh flowers or small bunches of fresh flowers
  • Scissors
  • Floral or craft wireFloral tapeWire cutters

    • 1
Gather several fresh flowers in a variety of sizes and colors. The number of flowers will depend on the size of the crown and the types of flowers, but most crowns will require approximately 2 to 3 dozen individual flowers or small bunches of miniature flowers. Choose any flower you like such as jasmine, stephanotis, baby's breath, daisies, bluebells, carnations or orchids. Wildflowers work beautifully in real flower crowns, or take advantage of bright yellow dandelions that appear every spring.
    • 2
Use scissors to cut the flowers. Leave 4 to 5 inches of stem on each flower.
    • 3
Cut a piece of floral or craft wire long enough to wrap around the crown of your head twice. Make a hoop shape that fits comfortably on your head, then secure the ends with a small piece of floral tape.
    • 4
Place the stem of a flower on the hoop and secure it with floral tape. Leave about 2 inches of floral tape so you can tie a knot when you finish the crown.
    • 5
Overlap the next flower over the stem of the first flower and continue to secure the stems to the wire with floral tape. Add flowers until the entire hoop is covered, then tie the ends of the floral tape.
    • 6
Trim any long stems that protrude from the flower crown.

Korean songs! :)

 Hey again!

Here are some of the songs that I like by the Korean artists that I posted a few days earlier. This one is called Shampoo by After School Virgin

Here is the song "I'll be back" by 2 PM.

Here is the song "I did wrong" by 2 AM.

It is really long because there are two parts to this song and both of the parts are here. :)

Cookies! Who doesn't like them?

Hey guys!

I love cookies! How about you? Here is a great recipe for cranberry white chocolate chip cookies....;)

White Chocolate Cranberry Cookies

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 cup dried cranberries, chopped
  • 3/4 cup white chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup macadamia nuts, chopped

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line 2 baking sheet with parchment paper.
With an electric mixer, cream the butter and both sugars together until smooth. Add the vanilla and egg, mixing well. Sift together the flour and baking soda. Spoon the flour mixture gradually into the creamed sugar mixture. Stir in the cranberries, white chocolate chips and macadamia nuts. Drop by heaping spoonfuls, about 2 tablespoons, onto the prepared baking sheets, 2 inches apart. Bake one sheet at a time until lightly golden on top and the edges are set, 12 to 15 minutes. Cool on the sheet about 5 minutes, and then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
Let me know what you think of them! :)

More bookworm on the loose!

Hey guys!

I was thinking about some of the other books that I like and I thought of a lot but here are a few.
The Goose Girl  by Shannon Hale is a beautiful story and definitely worth reading!

"She can whisper to horses and communicate with birds, but the crown princess Ani has a difficult time finding her place in the royal family and measuring up to her imperial mother. When she is shipped off to a neighboring kingdom as a bride, her scheming entourage mounts a bloody mutiny to replace her with a jealous lady-in-waiting, Selia, and to allow an inner circle of guards more power in the new land. Barely escaping with her life, Ani disguises herself as a goose girl and wanders on the royal estate. Does she have the pluck to reclaim her rightful place? Get ready for a fine adventure tale full of danger, suspense, surprising twists, and a satisfying conclusion."

The Goose Girl is just a beginning of the amazing series by Shannon Hale. I haven't read all of them, but I intend to...:)

Bookworm on the loose!

Hey guys!

There is something that I haven't told you about myself. I eat books. I love reading books of all kinds....Some of my favorite authors are Madelein L'Engle.

I love her series called "A Wrinkle in Time," as well as "The Arm of the Starfish."

"A Wrinkle in Time  is a science fiction fantasy novel by Madelein L'Engle, first published in 1962. The story revolves around a young girl whose father, a government scientist, has gone missing after working on a mysterious project called a tesseract. It is the first in L'Engle's series of books about the Murry and O'Keefe families."

Another of my favorite authors is Trenton Lee Stewart.

His series of books called "The Mysterious Benedict Society" are very very interesting. To read more about this series of books visit this website.

I also really like Amish books. I like learning about the different types of life and how differently they view things.

Books such as The Struggle.

To look more into this book check out this website.

Well, that's it for today...thanks for reading my blog! :)

The Hobbit

How many of you have seen "The Hobbit"? I haven't but I am dying to see it. I have seen all of the three Lord of the Rings movies and I intend on watching "The Hobbit".

For some of you who don't know what "The Hobbit" is about here is a link to some information.

Here is the trailer.

After "The Hobbit" there are three Lord of the Ring books.

"The Fellowship of the Ring"

"The Two Towers"

"The Return of the King"

They are definitely fascinating books so I recommend them!

My favorite characters of Lord of the Rings are...pretty much all of them except the orks.

Merry and Pippin
