Carly Rae Jepsen (born November 21, 1985) is a Canadian recording artist and singer-songwriter from Mission, British Columbia. In 2007, she placed third in Canadian Idol season five's competition, and was a part of the Canadian Idol Top 3 concert tour. Shortly after competing on Canadian Idol, she independently released her debut album Tug of War through Maple Music Recordings on September 30, 2008. Three years later, she released a new single, titled "Call Me Maybe", on Canadian label 604 Records, which was followed by the release an extended play titled Curiosity on February 14, 2012. In February 2012, pop singer Justin Bieber referred her to his manager, Scooter Braun, who subsequently signed Jepsen to his Schoolboy Records label while obtaining an American deal with global distribution on affiliate Interscope Records, after "Call Me Maybe" gained popularity on YouTube by reaching 300 million views. The single reached the number one spot on both the US Billboard and Canadian Hot 100, while also topping the charts in 19 other countries. Jepsen's musical influences include James Taylor, Bruce Springsteen and Van Halen.

From what I know about her, I think that she has a great personality. She really knows how to make people smile and she has got the best features. I especially love her combination of dark brown hair and blue eyes....she and Ian Somerhalder would look amazing together! :) If you guys would like to check out her official website, click here.

Hibernation period over....and Glee! (Part 1)

Hey guys!

I have seriously been a hibernating bear for the last few days. Sorry that I haven't posted.... my attitude towards blogging has been right around the picture on the right. But now I am ready to go again and am excited to post about one of my favorite TV shows...Glee!

So here I go...;)

Glee is a very amazingly epic TV show! I love it a lot! :) Here is the summary!

When a High School Spanish teacher, Will Schuester, becomes the director of the school's failing Glee club, New Directions, he hopes to be able to rejuvenate it. The club competes in the choir competition circuit. It's been called "a High School Musical for adults", the series follows the club and its mixture of oddball members as they try and restore it to its former glory. It is a musical comedy in which the eager and ambitious students not only compete to win the Nationals, but also have to deal with the tough and cruel realities of their school, McKinley High. At the same time, Will is trying to rejuvenate his failing love life whilst preventing the school's cheer leading coach Sue Sylvester from sabotaging the choir. IMDb"

This TV show is great. I really love how friendship really sticks together in this show. I definitely do not recommend this show for children under the age of 13 or so because of some gay/sexuality related things. But that is my opinion. :) Now let's talk about some of the characters of the show.

Rachel Berry is a very ambitious high school girl with a Celine Dion voice. She is one of the first to audition for the Glee Club at her school.  She is the main singer in the show and gets most of the lead songs. She is the daughter of two gay dads, but their gayness hasn't affected her desire for the opposite gender. Throughout the show she has a constant crush on Finn, who is already dating and has a baby on the way. Rachel has never been in the popular group and does things to try to get it, which she later regrets. I think that she is one of my favorite characters in the show.

Now take Finn. He is a football leader and one of the most popular boys of the school. He later looses his popularity due entering the Glee Club. His girlfriend is Quinn Fabray who has a baby on the way. Even though he is dating Quinn he is also into Rachel. He is the main singer in the show and gets a lot of the leading roles with Rachel. With Finn things can really take a spin off. He is the son of a single mother and tries to do everything to please his mother. He is a very caring, thoughtful person through out the show and loves to sing, but hates being in the loser group.

Now take Quinn Fabray, the most popular girl in the school. She is the leader captain of the cheerleaders who are lead by a strict leader by the name of Sue. Throughout the first season Quinn helps Sue to try to break up the Glee Club, which always comes back stronger. At the very beginning of the show, Quinn becomes pregnant and claims the father is Finn when it is really Puck who seduced her after getting her drunk. When her parents find out she is pregnant they kick her out and she is also kicked off the Cheerios (cheerleaders) when Sue finds out about her pregnancy. I really like Quinn because out of all the things she did wrong, she still had a lot of good in her. She is constantly jealous of Rachel because he sees Finn eyeing her. She also looses her popularity due to the entrance to Glee Club. After that loss she realizes her true friends are the Glee Club and starts turning in a different direction.

And now we come to subject of Puck. He is a first rate jerk who really wants to have Quinn claim him as the baby's father. He tries to take on a different path but fails when he is discovered texting every other girl in the school. He has the ability to be good and has a great voice, but doesn't pay attention to that. He has a brief thing with Rachel which soon died out. He flirts and manipulates every girl he can get. He and Finn are best friends and he also loses his popularity when he joins Glee Club. I kinda like Puck, I mean he can be a jerk and stuff but he does try hard to do things. I think that if he tried hard enough he could definitely turn around and go down a different path.

Then there is Kurt. The only gay of the group. He has always been bullied and finally told everyone in the Glee Club that he was gay after an incident with Mercedes. He has a soprano voice and is very big with fashion. He has had a constant crush on Finn and he loves doing makeovers. His Dad finds out he is gay after Kurt gets the courage to tell him. He is relieved when his Dad is cool with it, except his Dad is not ready to have the "boy talk". I really like Kurt and I think that he has a lot of potential. He has a pretty good voice for a boy also!

Then there is Mercedes. She is a black girl who has an amazing voice. She loves to sing and she and Kurt are very good friends. She had a brief thing with Kurt which made him tell her that he was gay and that he would care for if he wasn't gay. Mercedes is a girl that would be great to have in a tough situation. She does get upset because the Glee Club doesn't sing many "black songs." Overall she is a great person!

Then comes in Artie. The only handicapped boy in the whole show. He is constantly bullied because of being handicapped and he has a constant crush on Tina. He doesn't like it that girls ignore him because of his wheelchair. He has an amazing voice and loves to sing.  I really don't know what else to say about him because I am only on the first season of the show.

Then there is Tina, the girl that Artie has a crush on. She is very shy and has a fake stutter. She has a beautiful voice and has a great personality. She also likes Artie, and I think they might have something coming! She later breaks up with Artie and starts dating "the other Asian" that is in the group.

OK, I will finish the continuation of Glee another day...I think I've done enough for today!

Josh is still a normal kid, just take it from him.

"I still live in Kentucky. I was born and raised in Kentucky, and I still live there. I think that's the best thing for me...to kind of keep a level head. When I go back home, I have a completely normal life. I have my friends, I'm on a basketball team, I go to the mall, and we just do normal kid things. It's kind of nice to kind of escape the whole movie world and just become a normal kid again." - Josh Hutcherson

Just this year, Josh adopted a dog from Hands, Paws, and Hearts rescue organization from Lancaster, CA. He named his dog Driver.

One thing (this is for the girls) if you guys ever meet him or have met him...I hope you remembered/remember this...

The Lorax

Lorax
“Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
Nothing is going to get better. It's not.”
Dr. Seuss, The Lorax

Recently, I watched Dr. Seuss' The Lorax. I think it is a very cute sweet movie...:) How I would love to live in a world like that...

It starts out with a town, where everything was made out of plastic. They didn't have one single sprig of nature....but trees that used 96 batteries. :)

Here is a summary of the movie! :)

Ted and Audrey
"In the walled city of Thneed-Ville, where everything is artificial and even the air is a commodity, a boy named Ted hopes to win the heart of his dream girl, Audrey. When he learns of her wish to see a real tree, Ted seeks out the Once-ler, a ruined old businessman outside of town in a stark wasteland. Upon hearing of how the hermit gave into his greed for profits and devastated the land over the protests of the Lorax, Ted is inspired to undo the disaster. However, the greedy Mayor of Thneed-Ville, Aloysius O'Hare, has made his fortune exploiting the environmental collapse and is determined to stop the boy from undermining his business."  IMDb

It is a very cute movie and I highly recommend it! It is perfect for kids to watch and even adults! :) If I lived in that world, I think that I would just fall in love with the creatures! Especially the fat bear! He was so funny!

OK, that's it for now! Thanks for reading and come back for more Rambling's on the Loose!

Presidents Day

Hey!

So as well all know, today is President's Day! In my opinion, what to do better than to laugh? I mean no school!

In order to get this one, you have to know the story behind Abe Lincoln.

When Hillary and Bill Clinton married it was a Hillbilly situation.

Well, I bet no one could see this one coming!

Chronicles of Narnia

Hey!

How many of you have seen the Chronicles of Narnia movies? I really love them!

The first movie is "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe."

When the Pevensie family are evacuated out to the country, they are unaware of the adventure they will  encounter. During a game of hide and seek, the youngest daughter, Lucy (Henley) discovers a wardrobe which transports her to the land of Narnia. Covered in snow, Narnia is full of weird and wonderful creatures, but is watched over by the evil White Witch, Jadis (Swinton). When all four Pevensie children end up through the wardrobe, they discover that it was meant to be, as two daughters of Eve and two sons of Adam must join with the mighty lion, Aslan (Neeson) to defeat the evil White Witch"

                                                  Here is the preview:

The second movie is "Prince Caspian"

With the help of a heroic mouse called Reepicheep, and the exiled heir to the throne, Prince Caspian, they set out to overthrow the King, once again with Aslan's help.

The third movie is "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader"

Lucy and Edmund Pevensie are stranded in Cambridge, living in the house of their obnoxious cousin Eustace, while the grown-ups Susan and Peter are living in the USA with their parents. When a painting of a ship sailing on the sea of Narnia overflows water in their room, Lucy, Edmund and Eustace are transported to the ocean of Narnia and rescued by King Caspian and the crew of the ship The Dawn Treader. Caspian explains that Narnia has been in peace for three years but before he took his throne back, his uncle tried to kill the seven lords of Telmar, who were the closest and most loyal friends of his father. They fled to The Lone Island and no one has ever heard anything about them. Now Caspian is seeking out the lords of Telmar with his Captain Drinian, the rat Reepicheep and his loyal men. Sooner they discover that an evil form of green mist is threatening Narnia and the siblings and their cousin join Caspian in a quest to retrieve the seven swords of the seven lords of Telmar to save Narnia from evil.

Valentine's Day

Hey guys!

As we all know, today is Valentine's Day. Today is the day that chocolates, roses, and "be my valentine" cards are passed around. Most of us know what Valentine's day is about, but what most of us don't know is how Valentine's Day came about.

How It Came About
St. Valentine

There are many legends on how Valentine's Day came about. The Catholic church recognizes three different saints named Valentine, all of whom were martyred. One of the St. Valentines was a priest who served in Rome in the third century. When the emperor decided that single men become better soldiers, he outlawed marriage for young men. When St. Valentine heard about this law he found it unjust and started to preform secret marriages for young lovers. When he was discovered the Emperor ordered him to be put to death.

Whatever the actual legend is, it has definitely brought on a big holiday Approximately 150 million Valentine's Day cards are exchanged annually  making Valentine's Day the second most popular card-seconding holiday after Christmas.

Whatever the story is, Happy Valentine's Day!

Hair: Three different quick and easy hairstyles to do for the day!

Hey!

All of us have different types of hair, whether it's curly, straight, short, long, wavy, and some of us can't even describe what our hair looks like, whatever it is, it is all hard to deal with....I found some things you can do to help you put away your hair for the day.

Messy Bun

Depending on how long your hair is you can style the bun on the top of your head, towards the bottom (near your neck) or to the side. If you hair is shorter, try a lower bun.
1. Tie a ponytail. Be sure to tie your rubber band tight.
2. Use bobby pins to twist and pin pieces of your hair all around the base of the ponytail. Be sure to use plenty of bobby pins so pieces don't fall out.
3. Arrange and spray!

A beautiful mess!

Fishtail Braid

Fishtail
1. Split your hair down your back in two separate parts.
2. Grab the two parts of hair-one in each hand. From either side, take about a 1/2 inch strip of hair from the outer side of the one part and bring it over, adding it to the other part of the hair.
3. Repeat the last step, taking about a 1/2 inch strip of hair from the other part, bringing it over, and adding it to the first part of hair.
4. Continue with steps 2 and 3 all the way down your hair and secure with a hair tie.

Enjoy your finished fishtail braid!

High Ponytail

High Ponytail

1. Hoist your hair up to the crown of your head and secure with a hair tie. Add a head band for a cute
and stylish look! :)

UP!

Hey guys!
"Mine name is Ellie, what's yours?" - Ellie

How many of you have seen the movie UP? I have and I think that it is a very sweet movie and if you haven't seen it I recommend it! I think the movie is a very strong base on true friendship, love, and commitment.

Here is a summary of the movie!

House
In South America
"A young Carl Fredrickson meets a young adventure spirited girl named Ellie. They both dream of going to a lost land in South America." Ellie and Carl become really good friend and marry each other. "70 years later, Ellie dies. Carl remembers the promise he made to her. Then, when he inadvertently hits a construction worker, he is forced to go to a retirement home. But before they can take him, he and his house fly away. However, he has a stowaway aboard: and 8-year-old boy named Russell, who's trying to get an Assisting the Elderly badge. Together, they embark on an adventure  where they encounter talking dogs, and evil villain and a rare bird named Kevin." IMDb

What they didn't say in the summary was that Ellie had an adventure book where she was going to write all about their trip to South America. After she died the book was put away and Carl didn't open it until he had carried out his promise to her. To place their house at the top of the waterfall (second picture). When he opened the Adventure book, he found pictures of their lives together and on the very last page it said, "Thanks for the adventure  Now go have a new one! - Love Ellie"
